Update on UP's Hiawatha KS Subdivision
There are currently 27-30 trains per day on the Hiawatha Sub mostly empty coal hopper trains heading back to the Powder River coal fields in eastern Wyoming and Montana. UP is also continuing to run several manifest and intermodal trains and a few grain trains on the Hiawatha Sub.

All through trains that UP runs over the Hiawatha Sub come from Kansas City and are routed over UPs Falls City Ne Sub and are switched over to the Hiawatha Sub at Hiawatha Ks and then over to UPs Kansas Sub at Upland Jct. Ks and then the 7 miles to UPs Marysville Ks Sub then northwest to Gibbon Jct. Nebraska then over the Overland Route to Morth Platte, Nebraska for classification at UPs massive Bailey yard.
