OMNITRAX CANADA ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL UPGRADES AT THE PORT OF
CHURCHILL
Winnipeg, Manitoba: OmniTRAX
Canada is pleased to announce the installation of a new grain sampling
system at the Port of Churchill. The cross cut diverter system will
ensure consistency of sampling for inspection and grading of feed peas
moving through the Port. OmniTRAX committed $500, 000 for these
upgrades.
"The Port has made
significant progress in recent years," stated Gary Rennick, Chief
Operating Officer. "Last years' 710, 000 tonnes, are a direct
result of these kinds of innovative improvements. Our plans are to
handle even more board and non board grain through the Port this
year" he concluded.
Significant capital
expenditures and improvements have been undertaken following purchase of
the Port by OmniTRAX in 1997, including: installation of a covered
hopper dumping system; replacement of dust control system; upgrades to
grain handling system and cleaners; wharf repairs and dredging of the
harbour.
"We will continue to
seek out additional methods of improving our service offering ensuring
that the Port remains the lowest cost option to the Western Canadian
