Welcome to DepotNews Shortline & Branchline Trails - Home page.
We are currently developing a new  forum  for this category.  W are trying to decide what the new pages, pictures and data should look like.  As always, we are open to creative and helpful suggestions.    The primary purpose of this part of the DepotNews site, will be to allow access, updates, and exchange of information, stories and pictures on our favorite shortlines.

To provide updates or suggestions - click here!   We have also added a Shortlines Forum

Unfortunately, we don't have all the geo information (maps) and are looking for stories, pictures...... anything that you want to share about your favorite shortline.  Presently, we are working on integrating our news information and what photos we have, back with the proper rail ID. We will have more information later on in the year, but we could never provide what you have..... your stories, background or information  that you would like to share.  Please contact us.

To search for your favorite shortline, enter one or any of the following fields.  Please keep in mind that the more information you input, the more narrow the results will be:

Railroad Reporting ID (four characters ) i.e. ATSF  (place an * asterisk on the right side to search for partial IDs - such as AT* )
Partial Name of the Railroad:
A state where the  shortline operates:
